New Kitten

My wife and I decided to find a friend for our 2 year-old cat Toby. Our search yielded a ten week-old kitten. He’s a crazy, lovable, mischievous ball of fur who keeps us awake at night by alternating between scratching us under the covers and maniacally purring while lying on (and around) my face. After a few days of digging for a name, a Louis Armstrong CD sang out the appellation for our new hellion; we now stand the proud owners of a kitten named Louis. Update: After a few days of trying out the name “Louie”, we decided it just doesn’t fit him! “Harrison” (”Harry” for short) is his new name.

Here are a few pictures for your viewing enjoyment …

Our new kitten...

Sadly, he stunk when we got him, so the first thing we did was give the little stinker a bath…

As you can see, he’s enjoying every moment…
Reaching for all he's worth...

He paused in his struggles for a moment to pose…
Awwww...

He took a few minutes to dry off…

We learned he doesn’t hold grudges…

So that’s our new baby boy, here to stay for some time…don’t worry, you’ll see more of him as he gets older. ;-)

Update, 10-18-07: Want to see what he looks like now? Here’s a few more pics.

[…] tag has found its way into my “New Kitten” article. I took a look at the article in the Wordpress interface…the phantom tag was not there. I checked the database…it’s not there, either. I double-checked to make sure I’m looking at the right lines…yep, it’s the right one. I turned off Wordpress’ “auto-correct malformed XHTML” feature to no avail. The tag only appears in the final source of the blog home. So from where did this phantom tag originate? I only spent five minutes or so trying to figure this out, and perhaps I’ll actually waste more time on it, but I that little […]

[…] You might remember little Harrison from my earlier post, “New Kitten”, but it’s been almost a year since then so I figured you might want to see what he looks like now… […]
